Since 1972, councils have sponsored the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship for boys and girls from the ages of 9 to 14 to provide an athletic outlet and encourage the values of sportsmanship and healthy competition. Kids compete within their own gender and age and progress from local level to district, regional and state/province competitions. 

The Evansville KC held the local and district Free Throw Contest on January 26, 2025 starting at noon at the St. Boniface school gym right behind St. Boniface Catholic Church in Evansville.  Admission was free for all participants.  Participants were able to shoot 15 to 25 consecutive free throws, depending on the round, and were given a score for each one made.  Thewinners in each age group for both male and female contestants are shown to the right.  The winners were eligible to travel to the regional contest and given the details after this event.
